christened after the sonic youth track 'diamond sea' the trio, along with producers carl stipetic and paul hazlegrove, took to a small studio and several front rooms, to create an album rich in nostalgic guitar sounds and vocal harmonies, set against lyrical topics of travel, literature and 21st century life. influences lie with the alt country sounds of red house painters and sun kil moon to contemporary composers such as max richter and the windswept rock of bands such as wilco. to render a sound that echoes the emphasis of bands such as do make say think and enablers, perfectly executed to favour those with a nostalgic lament for indie music reminiscent of the late eighties, early nineties.
