Magic Bullets - Magic Bullets
Magic Bullets is a largely undistinguished affair – by no means offensive, just entirely unremarkable.»

san francisco's magic bullets return with their second full length on brand new brooklyn label, mon amie records. the quintet are back with a new lineup and a fresh collection of short, sweet pop simply entitled, 'magic bullets'. equal parts billy liar and the smiths, magic bullets embody the tradition of angry young men with day jobs who daydream of glamour in the gutter. their music makes perfect sense in the continuum of great indie rock songwriting, while capturing today's west coast scene. on first listen, you might recognize hints of c86, orange juice, the cure, and of course morrissey. but you might also hear some even older influences, like glenda collins, the byrds, and the marvelettes. then there's the underlying washed out beach sound of california in 2010 that brings it all together, making them fit in perfectly with their contemporaries including crocodiles, dum dum girls, and the splinters.
