a mini-album of sorts, 'thecontrollersphere' is a folk album only in the way of montreal could envision a folk album. clocking in at 23 minutes, 'thecontrollersphere' includes the long-awaited studio version of live favourite 'black lion massacre' - a pulsing sonic freakout that is the darkest and noisiest song barnes has ever written and serves as 'thecontrollersphere's mission statement.
