Deer Tick - Divine Providence
You’ll need to leave your inhibitions at the door with this one, because beyond the stench of testosterone, just past the upturned tables, sticky with whiskey and blood, there’s a pretty fine album lurking here.»

limited edition 2cd set (1000 copies only) that includes bonus five track 'tim ep'. taken from the same sessions that produced 'divine providence', the 'tim ep' comprises four unreleased songs as well as an acoustic version of the single, 'main street'. (this version is the first time guitarist and singer-songwriter john mccauley ever played the song. he had finished writing it just minutes before). after years of critics mainly praising them for their folk and country sounds and not touching on their other musical styles, the band wanted to make a record that was true to their live set (which has gained some notoriety): raw, loud, heartfelt, and completely uninterested in whatever the hell the rest of the music industry is up to. the results are unlike anything you've previously heard on a deer tick album.
