Taking inspiration from the 1960's Drop City American artist community, James Hoare (Mazes) and Jack Cooper (Veronica Falls) join forces to pen some gorgeous melodic guitar pop on 'Ultimate Painting' on Trouble in Mind. Each member composed 5 songs each, creating a seamless journey that is both pastoral and cosmopolitan. Intertwining guitar lines that ride off into the sunset, shuffling head-boppers with hook after hook, mellow gothic romances and sunny melodies - they are all found herein. Think a mix of the Velvet Underground, Lou Barlow, the Mamas and the Papas and Belle and Sebastian.
