What happens when you take the lead singer of a critically acclaimed Swedish Indie band The Cardigans, and Sparklehorse's quirky front man, and shove them in a studio together?

Well, apparently you get A Camp. Now don't be fooled, this is basically Nina Persson's solo project, but it's about as 'cardigan' as a wet suit.

There are a few times when the vocals have a chance to go into a typical Cardigan type moment, but was pleasantly surprised that Miss. Persson never took them and steered clear of anything that might make this seem like another Cardigans album.

Sparklehorse's Mark Linkous seems to be the perfect producer for this country-tinged album full of lush, beautiful songs and Nina's voice is faultless. I even noticed some Kd Lang moments in a few of the songs.

The album starts of with Frequent Flyer ("I'm a frequent flyer, a notorious liar") which is probably the perfect opener, a relaxed and laid back song. Sometimes things get a bit more aggressive. Hard As A Stone is an angry song complete with a harsh-effect on the vocals, but I think it's the quieter times which make this album really special.

Let's hope camp is back next year.
