Tommy and the Chauffeur

Kids' Chorus EP

Label: Boobytrap Release Date: 24/06/2002

ab by Anita Bhagwandas June 19th, 2002

Deeper than anything they’ve delivered before, Cardiff collective Tommy and The Chauffeur make art out of creating and investing sound schemes. Through previous releases and numerous live performances they’ve made their reputation through multifaceted and hyphenated hybrids, which are impossible to scale back. The only way forward is further into diverse sonic fusion, which they’ve undoubtedly achieved with this record.

Songs like Trappings’ and ‘You’re Surrounded’ do take their time in finding a shape, but then are constantly defied as they build into tidal waves of electric guitar crunch. It’s been a long time coming, but their fruits of their intense labour have certainly been worth the wait.
