Bristol-based Tailfly aren't new to these ears - their 'Escape Plan' demo was among the best unsigned material I heard last year. 'Too Many Bullets' demonstrates similar promise, but something's not quite right...
Y'see, the title track is painfully dull, and does absolutely nothing, for me at least. Shame, as the two songs that follow it - 'Dear Aurora' and 'Flammable' - are really quite something. The latter in particular - upon which the band's Godspeed and Mogwai influences shine through - highlights this band's great potential. Neither prog or post-rock as such, Tailfly should/could soon be trampling the tailfeathers of recently-emerged pop-prog sextet Pure Reason Revolution at least, if not bettering them; they're playing catch-up for sure, but have all the qualities necessary to last the distance.
