Amplifier

Amplifier

Label: Music for Nations Release Date: 10/05/2004

-Raz- by Raziq Rauf June 14th, 2004

Vedder woke up on Monday and found out The Zep were dead. What was he going to do? He got himself Tooled the fuck up. Where was he going to go? His mission was to kill the spirit of rock.

Wading through a sea of distortion comes one of the finer alt.metalheads of this generation. *Amplifier *take the classic rock mantra and feed it through reams of electronics until it reaches the thunderous realms of a rhythm section so massive only this waterway could envelop it sufficiently. This début album will wrap its vast wings around your ears and you will suffocate.

This has the mark of Chris Sheldon *all over it. Previously twiddling the knobs for other space-rockers such as *My Vitriol *and *Oceansize, Amplifier have brought Sheldon to the fore once more and have utilised his qualities revealing the cosmic possibilities for their colossal sound. Often a first release lets down a band so renowned on the quality of their live show. Here, this is not the case and *Amplifier *seem to be set up for a big future.
