Park here for Maximo news - Tip for 2005!
crablin by Colin Roberts February 2nd, 2005
Cheeky Newcastle five-piece Maximo Park are teetering on the edge of success, so DiS would like to share with you the latest goings-on in their world....

Having successfully completed their debut album with producer-extraordinaire, Mr. Paul Epworth (Futureheads, Bloc Party) the band release the excellent new single 'Apply Some Pressure' through Warp Records on February 21st. In addition to this, longer-standing Maximo fans will be interested/disappointed to learn that their self-financed debut 7" 'Going Missing' is now changing hands on eBay for upwards of £50.

The band have also announced that during the US industry-fest South by Southwest in March, they will be playing a poolside show with friends The Bravery, after which they shall be flying to Tokyo to start their tour of Japan. Let's hope that the band don't suffer the same fate which struck them whilst on the road in the UK with The Futureheads, whereby the contents of their van (including their shoes) were stolen and not recovered.

Expect a review and some more excitement around Warp's first 'indie' signings throughout February & March.
