The festival will take place over the bank holiday weekend 27th and 28th August at a secret location in the Nottinghamshire countryside and will feature up to 30 acts from every spectrum of contemporary music. It will have full facilities including camping, bars and a range of food on offer.
The idea of the festival is provide a platform for Nottingham acts to step up to.
Pete Johnson of madeinnottingham said: "We want to showcase the very best talent that Nottingham has to offer. We have space for about 30 bands over the weekend and we want to cover all genres. It doesn’t matter if you’re a solo acoustic act or a punk band, if you have played loads of gigs or just a few. We want the music to do the talking."
Performers will be asked to sell a small number of tickets to friends and family, after which any additional ticket sales will be split between the acts and the organisers.
Pete said: "Our emphasis is on the music and the atmosphere. By asking the artists to help promote the festival we can keep the overheads down and attract the right people. We want to create a distinctly friends and family feel to the event. If the event takes off then we want the bands to take a share. Everybody knows that self promotion is what it’s all about and if everybody brings a few friends we can’t fail in making sure everybody has a good time. We will also be instructing all bars and food outlets to keep their prices at normal pub rates so people won’t be going home broke."
