Kimya Dawson to headline London Ladyfest
TheBoyDeadly by TheBoyDeadly April 16th, 2008

Kimya Dawson will headline this year’s Ladyfest, held from Friday the 9th ‘til Sunday the 11th of May in London.

The Camden Underworld will be the main venue used for the event, which also features performances from Slow Club, Kasms, The Bobby McGees and Comanechi. Robots in Disguise will be there too, headlining the Saturday, while Dawson tops Friday’s bill.

Sunday is more of a varied affair – comedy, magic, DJs and dance troupe The Actionettes providing the entertainment while The Priscillas and other bands weigh in with their contributions.

Line-up:

Friday – from 6pm
Kimya Dawson
Slow Club
The Bobby McGees
Melodica, Melody and Me
Monday Club
Your Heart Breaks

Saturday – from 5pm
Robots in Disguise
Matt and Kim
New Bloods
Das Wanderlust
Comanechi

Kasms

Sunday – from 5pm Angie Reed

+ more TBA
+ magic from Mandy Muden; comedy from Rosie Wilby and Sarak Kendall; dance troupe The Actionettes and Twee as Fuck DJs

Ladyfest was launched in 2000 with the aim to “provide a platform for women in a creative sphere that is often dominated by men.” All profits from tickets sales – weekend tickets are available from WeGotTickets.com at a price of £40, though there are single day and other options – will go to charity.
