Coldplay in progression shocker
Mike_Diver by Mike Diver December 19th, 2005

Coldplay's Guy Berryman has told 6Music that the band's next album, their fourth, will be a substantial progression from their previous three long-play releases.

The bassist stated that the band are exploring new avenues of sound, and that the four-piece are very keen to return to the studio, even though X&Y is still riding high in the album charts.

"I know a lot of bands say this all the time, but our next record is going to be really quite different from the last three," said Berryman.

"I think it would be boring for us and everybody else if we did another record in the same vein as the last three. It's been said before that we really view these first three albums as part of a trilogy and it's now time to move on. We feel that we don't really have to prove ourselves any more to people - and that gives you an amazing amount of creative freedom to do stuff."

Coldplay's 'Talk' single is available from all good singles-stocking music stores, now.
