So half of you are dead, one remaining member's a vege-sausage-munching environmentalist and t'other has a fondness for talking trains. Does that stop you releasing a new album? Apparently not...
Word around the gossip campfire is that a new Beatles album could see the light of day this summer. Yes, new. Well, kinda: Neil Aspinall, head of Apple Corps, picks up the story...
“It involves the creation, by the re-mixing and re-mastering of the Beatles' recorded performances, of completely new music, which will be featured in the show, and which should lead to the release of the show album.”
Aaah, 'the show'. The show in question being one of the stage variety that's being planned in the US. Producers apparently have been granted access to 200 hours of recorded material.
Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are said to be on board with the stage show project (and presumably any new album that follows), along with Sir George Martin.
