Cliff Richard will go head to head with The Darkness for this year's Christmas number one.
Richard will release 'Santa's List', taken from his new festive album 'Cliff At Christmas'. It will compete with The Darkness' '(Christmas Time) Don't Let The Bells End', a song that the band hope will relive the days when Slade and Queen enjoyed festive hits. Other contenders include the winners of both Pop Idol and Fame Academy.
Cliff Richard last topped the chart at Christmas in 1990, and was also number one in 1960 and 1988. The Darkness weren't born in 1960, perhaps with the exception of Justin.
