Organisers of the BBC's forthcoming One Big Weekend event, to be held in Dundee this weekend, are warning music fans that there are bogus backstage passes circulating on the internet.
Counterfeit passes have been auctioned on eBay, with prices shooting beyond £7,000; real tickets are selling at around the £100 mark. Radio 1 has subsequently made all backstage passes invalid, to clear up the confusion.
A spokesman for the station said:
"Obviously Radio 1 is totally against people profiting from what is a free music event. Unfortunately with all major ticketed events there is the chance that people will auction tickets off."
Bands appearing at the two-day event include Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Sugababes (pictured), Editors, Muse and Snow Patrol. The full line-up can be found here.
