Slipknot's Subliminal Verses
Mike_Diver by Mike Diver March 11th, 2004
Slipknot's third album, 'Vol.3: The Subliminal Verses', will hit UK stores on May 24th.

Unlikely to be quite as prog as its title suggests, '...Subliminal...' was recorded at Rick Rubin's haunted mansion in the Hollywood Hills, and apparently demonstrates the suited-and-booted band's ability to connect with their existing fans, who they like to call "maggots", and push the limits of their genre in all directions. So that's shit then, in all directions. I'm joking...

Any Slipknot fans that have just shat themselves had better fetch some rubber panties, as come March 30th you'll be able to download an exclusive MP3, entitled 'Pulse of the Maggots', from slipknot1.com. The site will also host an interactive section from this date. Eventually, nine individual parts will comprise the final website (do you see what they've done there? Clever eh?).

The first single from the album, 'Duality', will be accompanied by a video shot in the band's hometown of Des Moines. Slipknot are lined up to play this year's Download Festivals, plus various European dates as special guests of Metallica.
