The Hellset Orchestra

My Boy, The Battledroid

Sometimes you can't help but wonder who wrote the rulebook on how many members a band should consist of and what tools they should use to construct their sound, whatever the structure or end result may be.

Because whoever did probably wasn't thinking about the countless possibilities that can be conjured up if you go beyond the accepted norm, push the boundaries a little, or as management consultants would put it, think outside of the box a little.

Nottingham ensemble The Hellset Orchestra have clearly done that as this download-only single sounds like nothing you've ever heard before or ever likely to hear again. Why? Well, if you were to build some kind of earthly being with the mindset of Frank Zappa, the musical skills of Mozart, the intrinsic band harmonising of My Life Story and musical dramatology of_ Jesus Christ Superstar_, this would be it. So have you heard anything like it before? Thought not...

Wondrous.
