Everything, brief: Six songs, 13-odd minutes, a small 3” disc, yelps and bleats and guitar riffs that wander to pastures previously explored only by those bands that really craved adventure. Kindred spirits in the spectres of Braid and Spy Versus Spy and current post-something darlings YMSS here and Bear Vs Shark over there.

Everything, elaborated: Pictures Paint Words write the songs you’ll scream from the tallest towers peeking above the treetops in fantastical Future Adventures. They write the songs that can’t sit still, that Itch and scratch in their compact-disc seats ‘til the listener has to let ‘em loose. They scream with a heart-blasted intensity unmatched by those who are sold specifically as ‘emotional’; they weave wondrous stories with instruments so often used merely to pacify rather than ignite the passion that burns within humans at the height of sensory stimulation. They are NEW and EXCITING. For real, this time. They are not going to be tomorrow’s glossy cover stars, and more power to them and their alluring awkwardness. They are from Nuneaton, the all-new rock capital of this country. One day pilgrimages may end there; today, a fountain of new blood gushes forth from the town’s core.
