Tigermoth’s debut single delivers the sort of satisfying pop crunch so lacking from the swathes of processed 80’s nonsense currently ‘flicking the bean’ of the Indie Elite. Following on from last year's calamitous appearance alongside The Libertines and Art Brut on the BYOP compilation, ‘I Know You Know’ is a three minute tear through teenage confusion and bedroom bouncing abandon.
Backed by the equally tremulous ‘Oxygen’ and despite some shabby production this London quartet’s first offering signals much promise for the future. If The Libertines sound like The Clash singing Smiths songs, Tigermoth are akin to Ash belting out Buzzcocks’ tunes – a combination that, on this evidence alone, is rather appealing.
