Twisted Nerve's band roster isn't exactly simple to categorise. All sorts of differing genres collide from the avant-garde to the almost twee. Sirconical's defies description.
In a nutshell, this release is very much out of the avant-garde. One moment we are greeted with an almost full on attack of drum n bass, which isn't necessarily drum nor bass.
Opener, 'Spank' uses a distinctive beat whilst synths hover and disintigrate over the carnage of drum noise.
'Chalm' manages to slow proceedings with minimalist keyboards and a simple bass line flowing throughout, it is simply done, but still uncomparable.
The remaining tracks follow suit in a fairly disfunctionally appealing manner.
In Syconical, Twisted Nerve have something quite out of the ordinary. Exactly what this is, is entirely up to you.
