Starting as a nightmare of an eerie piano and the increasing sound of drums pounding So Close
tries to piece together memories of a pleasant dream.
But trying to stay asleep is hard as the crunchy sound of guitars rip through the rest of the song without every looking back.
The soaring chorus “I adore your conversation, I adore just who you are, you inspire my imagination, I adore just who you are” captures your emotions untill the final note.
Six By Seven are back, even with the departure of guitarist Sam Hempton, they retain that same fierce guitar sound. So Close seems to be a good sign that their new album will rock, but it also sounds like something that could have been left off of their last album. Which is good and bad.
Good for those looking for another The Closer You Get. Bad for those wanting the band to grow.
