From the opening “So low” to the closing “L.S.S.” this is simply, a must hear. Anyone who says that the UK music scene is jaded, and moans about how we can’t produce any decent heavy bands that are up there with America's…well, This’ll prove you wrong. High praise indeed I know, but deserved.

“So low” starts with an ominous 25 second intro, but then it just explodes into aural chaos. Metal riffs the size of trucks come out of nowhere before the powerhouse rhythm section takes over, thundering along like a conquering army while guitar feedback smothers the verses. When the guitar kicks back in the choruses, the pure hostility and unbridled aggression is combined with unholy and really, really pissed off vocals from the twin female vocalists. Which give the band a really odd vocal sound: somewhere between Slipknot and This Mortal Coil at times…

“Replace” is far more mellow, far more restrained…until again it explodes in fury. Not so much taking the quiet-loud-quiet formula so much as replacing with loud-louder-even louder still, this is a non-stop in your face unapologetic fuck-you, with guitar. “Silence” is everything the title isn’t: 1 minute and 24 seconds of noise, perfectly condensed and honed into a little ball of hatred, with a perfect understanding of dynamics guaranteed to get the pit moving even if the gig was held in a graveyard.

“Longshot” starts deceptively quiet, moody, menancing and brooding, like a riot about to happen; a riot between Slipknot and Sick of It All while This Mortal Coil look on and play ethereal guitar sounds. “Save” might be the weakest track here, but “L.S.S.” more than makes up for it…again a track that band like the over-rated and over-hyped Amen wish they were good enough to write.

With a sound like Amen, Slipknot and Sick of it all stuck put into a sonic grinder and churned out the other side with etheral other-worldly vocals, a pounding rhythm section and with lyrics as menacing and intense as the policeman who accused me of loitering last night (while outside my own home), this is furious, finely honed hardcore-metal at its finest. Simply put: it’s the best UK band I’ve heard in a long long time, and makes Lost Prophets looks like the pop band that they are.

I don’t know how long this has been around – All I know is that someone gave me a CD-R of it the other day with just a mobile phone number attached. So excuse the late review…and I know this review might be glowing, but if there was one band I'd ever want to leave my own band for, this is it. Fuck it, it deserves all the praise because, this demo alone has restored my faith in the fact that there's some great music out there. It’s the best demo I’ve heard is ages. Absolutely fucking brilliant.
