The Beatings follow The Libertines out of London, but for all those NME cover boys charm, they have nothing of the sheer vitriol, passion and fury of The Beatings.

Debut single 'Jailhouse' is suitably knee quivering, and although it may on the surface appear to be The Stooges playing Buzzcocks covers whilst listening to Jon Spencer, it is in reality the sound of a riot going on. Ferocious, spiky guitars mingle with a screaming vocal over a relentless cacophony of a melody.
