For some people, there are only two words that matter in life, whichever order you put them in. Those words are 'Fischer' and 'Spooner'. For those of you that have missed the ever-so exclusive trend, slinky electronic squelches are in. Indeed, they are apparently, all that matter.
So cream your pants at the arrival of Ladytron. Glacier-like vocals float over a futuristic, snaking synth and baseline. Actually, for 'Glacier-like', read 'studied aloofness' and for futuristic, read 'depressingly retro'.
"_They only want you when you're seventeen/when you're 21/you're not fun... so come on_" soothes the disembodied vocal in a manner so arch, you can actually see the raised eyebrow. Brilliant.
It's not a bad song, but is equally utterly inconsequential. Written perhaps, for the soundtrack of an immensely cool Channel 4 yoof program. Or maybe a bunch of twats in Shoreditch. And its not as good as previous single 'Playgirl', no matter how many FelixtheKittinCrush mixes you bundle in.
When will it all end?
