It’s often been the case that when confronted with the restrictions of a short radio session, bands focus on the energy and fundament of their output. And on the evidence of these previously unavailable sessions, recorded for Peel between '92 and '94, Th’ Faith Healers are no exception.
With a grubby power and lurching rock action permeating the 16 tracks of this release, there’s a vitality here that captures a band in confident and edgy mode. The band’s two albums are represented well here, including the excellent 'Reptile Smile' and 'Sparklingly Chime', both hitting the spot with not a little melodic belligerence.
Along with previously unreleased material that was to be the basis for their ill-fated third album, the covers of Abba’s 'S.O.S.' and Harry Nilsson’s 'Without You' herein also serve to showcase the approach many bands took to the Peel process. In those days, it seemed he’d go on forever.
