I'll say it from the start - this band are all about the attitude. The cheap and nasty D.I.Y. Casio keyboards sound (and lyrics!) might be an acquired taste to some, but to let that put you off would be to miss out bigtime.
Why then? ‘Gravy Train!!!!’ (“four exclamation points, hooker”) do it with style. Style so sleazy they beat the likes of Peaches at her own electro-sex game. Described variously as “3 hos and a homo“, “3 hags and a fag“, a dance troupe, rap group, 4-person touring orgy - sex and sexuality is pretty much all they sing about. Excepting, of course, the odd reference to fast food and hardcore alcoholism. Coupled with their tongue-in-cheek adoration of the talentz and stylez of '80s rap bitches', it makes for a humorous, attitude filled slice of DIY electro-pop.
'Sippin 40z' is definitely the strongest (and best recorded) song on the 4-track EP. Fans of Ladytron, Peaches, Le Tigre et al should check out this tongue-in-cheek elegy to booze and casual underage sex:
“I go to the high school, I go to the high school
To find me a bitch, a young virgin switch
I go to the high school, I go to the high school
Make him kiss my gash, then I fuck his tight ass”
'You Made Me Gay' is the other highlight - a camped up and bitchy rap exchange between Chunx and Hunx (yes, the four all have rhyming pseudonyms), the latter accusing the former of putting him off girls for life:
“I thought you were cute, I thought your ass was fine But then I took down your pants and I said 'never mind''
Indications suggest their live shows, described as “boner-poppingly pornographic“, are the best place to see them, so look out for a possible UK tour this summer!
