DiS Southampton - Degrassi + Stout + Tri-City President
DiS Southampton - Degrassi + Stout + Tri-City President
_kp_ by Kate Price February 7th, 2005
Back for our first Southampton night of 2005, this month we're bringing you a bit of a mix. One touring band, two local bands and a night full of top tunes and dancing. Really, we're too kind. Here's the lowdown:

Who’s playing? DEGRASSI + STOUT + TRI-CITY PRESIDENT.

Where? LENNONS NIGHTCLUB, Onslow Road, Southampton.

When? MONDAY 7TH FEB 2005

How much? £4.00 on the door. Drink prices from £1

How long? 9pm till 2am

What's it all gonna sound like?

**DEGRASSI**
“The Edinburgh-based crew have been around a couple of years and have honed down their punk-fused rush to perfection... great hooks rise out of the intense riff action, all driven along with a high energy rush. Degrassi are definitely one of those bands that leaves you wondering why they are not much bigger.” - John Robb
Featuring the ex-bassist from Idlewild on guitar, these four have been likened to the aforementioned's punkier younger brother. Having recently toured with the fabulous Colour of Fire, this will be their first headline show in Southampton. www.degrassi.co.uk

**STOUT**
“Stout take in big, bold Britrock anthems, Reef-style blues-ery and hardcore frenzies with all the subtlety of and ice-pick to the temple” - Kerrang!
One of Southamptons most popular local bands, Stout have a reputation for being an exhilaratingly heavy live experience. With constant comparisons to the likes of At The Drive-In and Million Dead, this lot are definitely worth a look-in.

**TRI-CITY PRESIDENT**
Tri-City President are relative newbies to the local 'scene' and definitely ones to watch. Melodic, pretty indie-pop without being too twee. If you like The Shins and Belle & Sebastian, you definitely don't want to miss these.

+ Us on the Decks!
Myself and Andy Farley will be lighting up the dance floor with lotsa class tunes for your dancing pleasures. And, we PROMISE to make our set a little more imaginative than the bog standard indie/rock night in Southampton… *ahem*. We expect to see you all shakin’ a tail feather until 2am, whence we shall throw you out into the streets until next time.

If you have any questions, suggestions, or are in a band who’d like to take part in future Drowned In Sound events in Southampton, my email address is kate.price@drownedinsound.com!
