We &hearts #1: Lovvers
We &hearts #1: Lovvers
sean by Sean Adams September 22nd, 2008
and Lucy Johnston

There are bands we love that bit more than others and the standard interview fare can get a bit, well, dull and reveal very little beyond the standard wikipedia entry.

Bands on the whole are intriguing creative beasts, sometimes living in a somewhat parallel world to the rest of us. Or rather, some of them have just that bit more time and due to to touring, opportunity to discover and be exposed to things the rest of us struggle to find time to explore. We get to know what music makes them tick with our mixtapes but there's so much more to life than music, and so much more that inspires musicians than other melodious noise.

For this new feature we have one simple request: 'please tell us five things you love'. We're not gonna get psychoanalytical, we'll leave that to you.

With the release of their new EP (9/10 review) and with a name too apt not a draw a line to our new feature, we fired off an email to Lovvers** and this is what came back...

-----

  1. SIMON ROSE

Some may think this guy’s a myth but he truly exists, he is sometimes seen onstage or carrying amps, he’s the closest we’ll get to a 5th member. If you don't know who he is then he deserves your attention.

  1. POP PUNK

The forgotten genre?

  1. BASELABS

This is where we practice, it’s a converted basement in Nottingham, it is run by a semi professional builder called Simon Ashdown (he also recorded our record) it’s an amazing place, filled with old bits of equipment and records. Sadly he has been recently served papers to leave, but we’re hoping he finds an equally suitable space.

  1. THE INTERNET

What an amazing and curious resource!

  1. THAI VEG BUFFET

Probably the most visited eatery on tour, falafel and subway are also popular choices, but when you’ve not eaten properly for days then this is really gets you back on track.

_"There you go; we have a record coming out on September 29th  and we’re playing a lot, go check.

Lovvers"_

DiScuss: psychoanalytic reactions? Who should we quiz in future features?
