Top Ten Reasons Why Going To War Is Good
Top Ten Reasons Why Going To War Is Good
gdobson by Gareth Dobson March 20th, 2003

1)Fire fighters and tube drivers won't strike for fear of being set alight and/or stoned to death.

2)Old people can't say "I remember the war" with any degree of exclusivity.

3)The return of the car bumper sticker, eg 'Honk if you've kicked Saddam's butt'.

4)The football season might be cancelled, ensuring Arsenal fail to achieve a consecutive Premiership title.

5)People can walk around in an air of gloom and not have to explain it.

6)The inevitable post-war run of 'quality' films/music/books etc. See post Vietnam/Gulf War books and films - Apocalypse Now and Bravo Two Zero.

7)People nodding grimly to each other on the streets, buoyed by a sense of community à la the World Cup.

8)Much debate over who has the best uniforms in military history.

9)The amusing about-turn of all papers (possibly only the Daily Mirror) as they 'Get Behind Our Boys'.

10) Atomic Kitten being sent far across the world to 'entertain' the troops.
