The sharp punky-charm of Mavis is coming all the way from Sunderland to cross the Welsh border for the very first time. Ivory Springer, the piggies in the middle, "Combine the melodic power of Mission of Burma with the angular brutality of Shellac", while from Porth in the Rhondda, Flailing Wail head straight for the jugular.
Mavis make music to communicate their "love and disgust of all things human."
"Bubbly, infectious indie punk from the new angels of the North. The quirky quartet deal in soulful, uplifting punk rock with a healthy dose of wit and humour, delivered with the sort of naive charm that will endear the band to all but the most hard-nosed and stern-faced punkers."

"Ivory Springer are the aural equivalent of having an anchor dropped on your head. Imagine being blindfolded and tied to a chair whilst someone over-tunes the bottom string on a bass guitar right next to your face. At some point, something's going to snap. Well, that's approaching the vibe that Ivory Springer inherit and then fortify. A rock band that have fed their dynamic through a random number generator."
Choke Magazine
"Flailing Wail are a bunch of impassioned school-agers that rock so hard they sometimes end up in hospital with back injuries and serious concussion. Moody, grudge-laden angst-punk festooned with loud, jagged guitar dynamics."
