...Trail o'Dead: LP Delayed + Neil Leaves
sean by Sean Adams August 30th, 2004
Trail loses a member and new album gets delayed...

Trail of Dead... Yeah-aah... Trail of Dead... sonic-punks ...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead's have two chunks of sorta bad news. Firstly, the band recently parted company with their bass player Neil Busch due to "severe health problems". Neil has been replaced by Danny Wood from Austin band The Rise. However, rumours suggest Neil, who worked on the record and has been touring the world with this infamous troop is getting better.

Secondly, the follow-up to 2002's 'Source Tags & Codes', which was ear-marked for an October release, has been pushed back until January 2005. The album's called 'Worlds Apart' and some tracks from it have been aired live at sporadic shows since the end of their world tour last year.

Conrad (Keely) explains the reasons why over on trailofdead.org:

"[There] are three reasons they have for this – U2, No Doubt, and Eminem. All three are putting out records in October, and they don't want to have to dust ours under the rug. This happens in the industry sometimes. There are other reasons, such as we don't wash our hair and we need to take promo pictures."

Aaaaah, ain't major labels brilliant? However, the band still plan to tour the US and UK in the near future to coincide with a preview single.

DiScuss: What're you expecting from the new album? Anyone heard any of it? Favourite Trail o'Dead experience? Best Trail o'Dead / Sonic Youth inspired new band you've seen lately?
