The Eagles of Death Metal have been unceremoniously dumped from Guns N Roses American tour.
The band, who were supporting the rock'n'roll titans on a jaunt across the country, had finished a set at Cleveland's Quicken Loans Arena when Axl Rose appeared on stage.
Looking to arouse a crowd apparently nonplussed with TEODM's non-GNRness, Axl punned, witty: "So how'd you like the Pigeons Of Shit Metal? Don't worry, that's the last show they're playing with us."
The Eagles were reserved at first, issuing this 'comical' statement via their website:
"At first the audience refused to welcome us to the jungle, but by the time we took our final bow, it had become paradise city. Although Axl tried to November rain on our parade, no sweet child o' mine can derail the EODM night train. We say live and let die."
Lol?
But later, speaking to NME.com, Eagles leader Jesse "The Devil" Hughes let it all rip.
"Axl Rose is fucking out of his mind," raged Hughes. "He wasn't even there when we played. He got there about 30 minutes after we got done playing. He waltzed on to the stage and went nuts."
After a 'mutiny' among his band, many of whom count The Eagles of Death Metal as friends, Axl apparently apologised and asked the shunned rockers to return to the tour.
But Hughes remained defiant: "When my manager told me that, I just said, 'You can tell that motherfucker to go and fuck himself because I will never go through that again'."
