Drowned In Sound is proud to announce its part in an alliance bringing a bonanza of new music and art to East London in Autumn next year.
In partnership with Eat Your Own Ears, Rough Trade Shops, The Stool Pigeon, Flora Fairbairn Projects and Hackney and Tower Hamlets Councils, ‘Concrete and Glass’, the first event of its kind in London, will run between the 2nd and 3rd of October 2008.
The festival will use the likes of Austin’s SXSW, London’s Frieze Art Fair, New York’s CMJ and Manchester’s In The City as models to build a long-running event to be proud of; making use of 20 venues and galleries in the territories between Hoxton, Shoreditch and Brick Lane.
Purely fan-based, with industry panels and conferences conspicuous by their absence, entry to the event will be dictated by possession of the now traditional wristband. Venues will range in size from capacities of 150 to 750 and we'll start to confirm a steady stream of artists in the New Year.
DiScuss: Come October who do you suspect DiS will be booking for their stage?
