Happy Londoner Jack Peñate will head back into the studio in January to begin work on his second album.
No details on the successor to Matinée yet, just chatter, a few new songs and intention. He don’t wanna bore uzzz.
"I'm excited to kind of change perception and stuff,” said Peñate. “That's something that's really hard to do, it's something I really wanna work at.
“The best people are the ones who can change perception non stop... people kept on thinking they knew who they were and they didn't.
"I just don't wanna bore people, I don't want people to compare any song to any song on the first record, that's my only fear. I would happily make a record that completely flopped but I felt at least showed completely different sides to me than one that was a not-as-good-first-record."
Pete Burns or David Bowie? It remains to be seen, of course, what Jack as chameleon really means. He’s got his own ideas about how to go about things and DiS can only tender its encouragement.
"I feel like I have got a bit of unearthing to do, pulling up some roots and starting again, let's see though, let's see if I have got the talent."
Jack Peñate was talking to BBC6Music.
