Following on from yesterday’s reports that Marty Crandall, bassist with the Shins, and his now most definitely ex-girlfriend Elyse Sewell were jailed after a domestic ‘incident’ comes today’s news that Crandall’s been released (8 Jan).
The keyboardist follows Sewell, the supermodel who contested the maiden series of America’s Next Top Model in 2005, from the cells of the Sacramento jail 48 hours after police received a call from staff at a local hotel.
Sewell has already posted allegations of assault, coming in what she described as “blitzkrieg of violence”, against Crandall on her livejournal. The entry has since been blocked on the advice of her legal team, but photos contained within that, slightly peculiar, journal entry can be seen here.
Crandall’s label, Sub Pop, have neglected to comment at any kind of length on the incident, a statement saying simply: “there will be no further comment at this time and we would appreciate their privacy being respected."
Both are due back in Sacramento County court today (8 Jan) to address the matter.
