Muse announce world stadium tour plans, one-off London show
TheBoyDeadly by TheBoyDeadly February 19th, 2008

Muse sparked chatter that they’ll soon embark upon a world stadium tour while confirming their appearance at the Royal Albert Hall this spring.

Talking to BBC 6Music, wailer Matt Bellamy revealed that his band would play the show at the prestigious London venue to raise money for The Teenage Cancer Trust.

After that takes place – sometime from the 9th 'til the 12th of April, though the exact date is yet to be announced – Bellamy has his sights set on a headline slot at V Festival, before bringing his grand hysteria to the rest of planet Earth.

“What inspires us is the idea maybe of doing shows like Wembley Stadium, but trying to bring it to more countries around the world,” he told 6Music.

“We haven't really toured at stadium level. That's something we would like to work towards.”

Eventual destinations? Bellamy and co. are already making eyes at the Persian gulf and Latin America.

“We're gonna do Dubai. We actually wanted to go there anyway [for a holiday] but we might as well do a gig there to pay for the trip,” Bellamy reasoned.

“It's the same with South America. We might go down for a sort of half-holiday and do a couple of gigs, because we have never been there before."

Returning to domestic matters, tickets for what's going to be a relatively stripped-down affair, apparently, will go on sale this Friday (22 Feb) at 10am.
