The week began, as it always does, on Thursday night, just after DrownedinSound left the office for Vampire Weekend's show at the ULU in London. It was quite a dramatic affair - bust-ups, wailing fire engines, Tom Petty covers (click). And all because someone let off a fire alarm. Paul Simon, you stand accused. After that well, it was DiS that came under seige - Young Knifed, after we'd been Brian Jonestown Massacred.
Thankfully, we kept enough about us to not fall away in scorn and we did, in fairness, make some good things happen. We ran a competition to get you into the exclusive launch party for this year's Truck Festival - the 11th year the Oxfordshire event has run kicks off with a performance from Danny and the Champions of the World at Hackney City Farm next week. Wuh? Pay no mind, it's a farm.
Elsewhere, we're sponsoring the May tour of phenomenal LA neu-noiseniks HEALTH, and starting up a monthly night in Sheffield - Johnny Foreigner will be the first at the steel city's DiScover showcase on the 24th of March. Click here for more details.
Anything else? You should definitely get your tickets for the upcoming Dead Meadow show at the London Scala. Youthmovies and the Owl Service are in support on Sunday night (2 Mar). CLICK HERE, then by all means, read on at leisure.
