Set to play London's Shepherds Bush Empire on June 12th, thousands of fans are to be disappointed today as the band announce the cancellation of all their pending shows across the world, including all scheduled festival appearances this summer.
Diagnosed in December 2001 with a severe case of reactive arthritis, the last six months have seen Daniel battling to continue his work with varying levels of impaired movement and excruciating pain. In the past few weeks, his condition has deteriorated rapidly, with the illness spreading to other parts of his body and rendering him often unable to play guitar or walk easily. Plans for any proper tours have had to be forgotten until Daniel has recovered sufficiently, which according to doctors, may take another year.
In a statement from the band, Daniel apologies, "I am truly sorry that I am not able to do the touring we had planned for so long. I apologize for the inconvenience these cancellations will cause. I am doing everything humanly possible to try and get well but lately things have just kept getting worse."
Tickets will be fully refunded from where they were purchased and the band's scheduled July album release is to go ahead as stated here.
