DiS Radio Returns! Q1 2011 Report by Sean Adams & Mike Diver
sean by Sean Adams April 4th, 2011

After an absence of several years, the "award-winning" DiS Radio is back!

In case you missed the mention on the boards this weekend and don't subscribe to our Mixcloud then you might have missed the return of DiS Radio. Some of you may remember the show from a few years back, before various 'official' music industry bodies introduced a royalty rate which prohibited us from continuing doing the podcast, without bankrupting ourselves.

Last week, Sean Adams (that's me) and former DiS editor, and now BBC Reviews editor, Mike Diver, sat down and recorded a first quarter report, summing up our favourite releases and the highlights of the year so far. And via the magic of Mixcloud, you can stream the "radio" show here:

Dis Radio 2011 - Sean Adams & Mike Diver's Q1 Report by Drownedinsound on Mixcloud

Tracklisting
Mogwai 'San Pedro'
Tim Hecker 'Hatred Of Music 1'
How To Dress Well 'Ready For The World'
Ghostpoet 'Run Run Run'
Gil Scott-Heron & Jamie Xx 'Ny Is Killing Me'
...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead 'Summer Of Dead Souls'
Bright Eyes 'Beginner’s Mind'
Cut Copy 'Blink And You'll Miss A Revolution'
Smith Westerns 'Dance Away'
Katy B 'Broken Record'
Diddy '"Hello Good Morning"'
Gang Gang Dance 'Glass Jar'
Austra 'Beat & The Pulse'
Julianna Barwick 'Magic Place'

DiScuss: Is it a major issue for you that this is streaming and not downloable like wot it used to be? Any thoughts? Too much talking? Not enough music? Too long? Better left dead and buried? More of this sort of thing?
