SXSW 2014: DiS sponsors Under the Radar Magazine's SXSW Party
sean by Sean Adams March 5th, 2014

If you're lucky enough to be heading to Austin Texas next week for SXSW, come see EMA, Thumpers, Woman's Hour, Glass Animals, Gruff Rhys and all this lot at a party being thrown by our American siblings from another mother...

DiS is very pleased to be a partner for this year's Under the Radar SXSW party, which features many of DiS' favourite acts. We knocked up this Spotify playlist to give you a taste of the bill:

Here's all the info about the party, as published on UtR's website...

Under the Radar magazine is excited to reveal the full lineups, poster, and set times for our three SXSW 2014 day parties, taking place on Wednesday, March 12, Thursday, March 13, and Friday, March 14.

EMA headlines Wednesday's party. Wednesday's lineup also includes The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Future Islands, Connan Mockasin, Lost in the Trees, Casual Sex, and Saintseneca.

We Were Promised Jetpacks headline Thursday's party. Thursday's lineup also includes The Mary Onettes, Small Black, Avi Buffalo, Thumpers, Painted Palms, and GEMS.

Charli XCX gets top billing on Friday's party. Friday's lineup also includes Yamantaka // Sonic Titan, Arthur Beatrice, Gruff Rhys, Weekend, Woman's Hour, and Glass Animals.

RSVP Info

All events are free and open to the public-no SXSW badges are required. You're welcome to just show up on the day.

But in case there's a line or we are to capacity, get the Applauze app to RSVP for preferred entry into the show! Download the app, search for Under the Radar, and tap "I'm In." Download Applauze here.

Applauze is the simplest way to purchase tickets from your phone. Currently available in over 50 cities in the U.S. and Canada, Applauze helps you discover, plan, and attend the best events around you.

Do not RSVP on this page, please only RSVP via the Applauze app or just show up on the day.

Sponsors

The parties will feature free beer courtesy of Sapporo USA (while supplies last).

The renowned amplifier manufacturer Orange Amplification is sponsoring all three days. In addition to giving SXSW-goers the opportunity to demo Orange gear at our parties, Orange will donate $1 to Little Kids Rock every time someone posts to Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #OrangeGives (limited to one entry per person/social media identity). You don't need to be at SXSW to participate, but bonus points if you post a photo or video of a band getting loud with Orange gear along with the hashtag #OrangeGives.

The #OrangeGives campaign benefitting Little Kids Rock will kick off Wednesday, March 12 at 11 AM CST and ends Sunday, March 16 at 11:59 PM CST.

What's more, everyone who includes the #OrangeGives hashtag along with a photo or video showing Orange-whether on stage at SXSW, in their home studio, or with bands rocking out at a local club-will be entered into a drawing to win a premium Orange OR15 Amp Head.

Little Kids Rock is a national nonprofit that transforms children's lives by restoring and revitalizing music education in under-served public schools. More info at www.littlekidsrock.org.

Drowned in Sound, Britain's best music website, is our U.K. media partner on the events.

Other sponsors include MailChimp (more than 5 million people use MailChimp to create, send, and track email newsletters), and the record labels ANTI- and Polyvinyl.

Where and When

The parties will happen from 12-6 PM at the Flamingo Cantina at 6th and Red River (515 E. 6th Street, Austin, TX 78701). This is the ninth year in a row that Under the Radar has hosted events at SXSW.
