Get your free Ooberman track
smills by Stephanie Mills November 22nd, 2002
On Friday 6th December for two hours only a brand new Ooberman track will be available as a free mp3 download.

Fans who visit the band’s official website will be able to download the song for their own personal listening pleasure between 8-10pm. 'Lavender Blue' is not on a forthcoming album, and will never be available anywhere else. The free single will coincide with a full band chat in the Ooberman chat room.

The band's new album 'Hey Petrunko' is set for release in February next year. The album was due out later this year, but it has been decided that it is best to postpone the release until after December to avoid being over-looked during the festive rush.

Dan Popplewell has told www.ooberman.com what fans expect from the new album:

"Without spoiling the plot, let's say it's carrying on in the style of Running Girl, in terms of Sophie singing much more, more quiet folk influences, but more ambitious orchestral stuff, but it's also much bigger and wider than Running Girl. Taller, deeper. More electronic overtones creeping in. Pah, don't ask me, I think in decibels. Let's say, it's very 3-D, and feels to me like a ride through scenes and emotions, like there's a comforting presence, a consciousness leading you through it. It has some real moments of beauty, reaching a particular peak on Cities that Fall, one of Andy's. I've listened to it maybe 50 times in the last 3 weeks to check for tiny details, and every time I've been dragged in and felt like a child being shown delightful things. I just hope you like it."

The band also plans to release a new single at the end of January. It will be a double-a side featuring the tracks 'Cities That Fall' and 'Where Did It All Go Wrong?'
