The news comes just over a year since the club opened at the National Centre for Popular Music on Paternoster Row.
After relocating to Club.Zero during the summer, it looked as though Barfly had secured its future, with a permanent home in Sheffield city centre.
Now it appears the venue was not suitable for staging live music, and it would seem Ladytron’s December 5 gig was the final performance that will be held at the club.
Barfly, who have recently opened clubs in Glasgow and Liverpool, are currently rumoured to be searching for new premises in Sheffield, but this latest setback is a blow to the chain’s hopes of establishing a number of venues outside London.
