Goldrush: Another Flaming Folk-pop Ep
sean by Sean Adams January 13th, 2003
Loveable Oxford pop-kittens, release a mini-album, extended player type thingy, on Truck... and they kick off a roadshow tour this week!

Having recently left their deal with Virgin, and touring with the Flaming Lips, young turks Goldrush greet 2003 with 6 new songs plus a reworking of 'Let Your Down' on an EP via the label they have a big hand in, Truck Records on February 18th.

Entitled simply 'Extended Play' the EP recorded at their very own Truck Studios features a bitta help from infamous producers Dave Fridmann (The Flaming Lips) and Lenny Franchi (The Music).

This isn't ALL new-new stuff, as lil-pixie Robin explains:
"A lot of the songs were written with regard to our circumstance in the greater scheme of things - how much of life comes down to chance, and how much is due to conscious decisions. It is deep meaningful shit but we still know a good tune. These are songs that will renew one's belief in the possibilities that lie ahead."

The Tracks are: Intro, What I Thought, Let You Down, Out of Reach, I know (4AM), Counting Song, and The Outro.

And the Trailerpark Roadshow tour, ventures to.. on..

January
13 - Glasgow West 13
16 - London Garage (downstairs)
17 - Brighton Freebutt
19 - Southampton Green Cellar
20 - Oxford Cellar (ep launch night, band apparently not playing)
21 - Cambridge Boat Race
30 - Cardiff Clwb Ifor Bach

We also hear Truck are planning to re-release the Whispering Bob (the original name of Goldrush) stuff in the next few months, along with albums from Fonda 500, KTB (one of goldrush's sisters) and Meanwhile, Back in Communist Russia.

DiScuss: How ace are Truck records? Who would you like to see at Truck fest this year?
