Troy Van Leeuwen (QOTSA touring guitarist), Josh Freeze, Billy Howerdal and Maynard James Keenan (TOOL), otherwise known as A PERFECT CIRCLE are due to release a new album this year.
According to their official website, on Jan 17th "A Perfect Circle reconvened to begin the writing/recording process. when it's done, you all will be the first to know. actually...the second to know. - Maynard"
But, Austrailian site Undercover spoke to Troy (whilst at the Big Day Out with Queens Of The Stone Age) and reports: "Last I heard there wasn't any vocals on it... The vocals are at least being considered. Maynard was out with Tool forever and you can't just jump off the road and into the studio after that long period of time I think anyway".
Troy also told MTV: "It's definitely a step up from the last record. A Perfect Circle kind of established its sound, and I think there's just more of that. It's very ethereal and builds up to the heavy thing rather than being heavy all the time."
More news on this album as we get it.
