The lineup for the Vans Warped 2001 US tour has been confirmed, with Less Than Jake, The Ataris, Midtown, H20, Rancid, Kill Your Idols, The Vandals, Pennywise, AFI, Big Wig, Me First And The Gimme Gimmes (Fat Mike's side-project), Fenix TX and Guttermouth making up the bulk of this year's punk offerings.
As always, however, the alternative stage will be trying to broaden those crazy punk's outlooks on music. Last year featured the likes of Papa Roach and One Minute Silence, while 2001 brings the prospect of Weezer, Rollins Band, and (sadly) the ever-repulsive 311.
Check the official website as more bands will be announced shortly - possibly including the awesome Amen, who are rumoured to be playing on at least four dates in & around New York State.
Meanwhile, Europe's lame answer to Warped - the Vans "Off The Wall" Club Tour - is cavorting its way through the mainland at this very moment, with a gig at London's Mean Fiddler on 29 April rounding up the proceedings. SNFU, Ignite, Powerhouse, The Deviates and Venera make up the bill, hence achieving the impossible and actually making Deconstruction 2 look like a decent punk festival. How lucky we are.
