According to Virtual Festivals, The Strokes, Muse and The Pixies are now 100% confirmed for this year’s V Festival which will take place across the weekend of 21-22 August in Chelmsford and Stafford. They join Kings of Leon and Massive Attack - who will be headlining the NME Stage (ditto for T in the Park) - as well as N.E.R.D, Athlete (Kill! Kill! Kill!), Primal Scream, Snow Patrol, and Keane.
It is one of the strongest line-ups the festival has ever had (well, apart from maybe QotSa and PJ Harvey last year, and sneaking Sigur Rós on the bill three years in a row). As if genre leading acts like Muse and Pixies weren’t enough, then Dido (yawn!) and Pink will provide feminine pop, whilst young-fogie Jamie Cullum will satisfy those 5-albums a year types, patiently sulking 'til the next Coldplay or U2 album drops.
Tickets go on sale at 9am on Saturday 20th March. Book early, as although there are 130,000 tickets on sale, the strength of the line up is sure to sell the event out in record time.
DiScuss: Is V really as bad as it sounds? Heard anyone else rumoured to be playing?
