Speaking exclusively to Teletext’s ‘Planet Sound’ at an invite-only South gig in the Camden Lock Tavern last night, Mozza said The New York Dolls will play their first gig since 1977 at the event, held between June 11-27th at London’s Royal Festival Hall and Queen Elizabeth Hall on the south bank.
Other people set to play/do 'stuff' are The Libertines, Franz Ferdinand, playwright Alan Bennett and Moz’s artist friend Linder Sterling. Moz, who plays three nights at Meltdown, will also apparently be playing Glastonbury and Carling festivals this summer.
The full lineup for Meltdown will officially be announced next month.

In vaguely relevant news, details of a Smiths/Morrissey tribute compilation from UK labels Sorepoint Records and Eat Sleep Records have been revealed. Imaginatively entitled 'How Soon Is Now', the disc features covers from various emo'ish bands. It's released on May 31st and tracklisting currently features these rock acts that proper Smiths fans will most likely loathe: Hundred Reasons 'How Soon Is Now?', Million Dead 'Girlfriend In A Coma', Yourcodenameis:milo 'Death Of A Disco Dancer', Read Yellow 'Bigmouth Strikes Again', Cursive 'Frankly Mr. Shankly', Lomax 'Handsome Devil', Garrison 'Panic', Instruction 'Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me' and a really wonderful version of 'Shoplifters Of The World Unite' by thisGIRL (who're currently hiding away recording their second album!).
