V Festival Essex shifts its camping tickets
gdobson by Gareth Dobson April 4th, 2004
Organisers of the V Festival today announced that all its camping tickets for Hylands Park in Chelmsford site have sold out, with camping tickets for Weston Park in Staffordshire disappearing faster than people's lunches on a cross-channel ferry.

The news is a continuation of events whereby this summer's festivals have become the hottest tickets going. Glastonbury has sold out again, and the Carling Weekend is expected to complete its annual sell out well before August.

Day passes and weekend passes without camping are also still available for both V festival sites.

The impressive V bill is probably one of the reasons why they have the jump on ticket sales for other festivals. The Strokes, The Pixies, Muse and Dido. (okay, not that stoked about the last one) are all confirmed to reside on the bill's higher echelons.

Rather unexcitingly, V Festival headliners, Muse, commented in a rather anodyne fashion: “We last played V in 2001 and have been looking forward to coming back since then. It’s a cool festival with a great vibe. The diverse styles of the bands performing always make for a really interesting line up.”

The rest of the line up for the penultimate festival of the summer reads so far;

Kings of Leon, Massive Attack, N.E.R.D, Primal Scream, Pink, The Thrills, Athlete, Badly Drawn Boy, Faithless, Jet, Snow Patrol, Keane, Jamie Cullen and Jamelia.
