Bright Eyes: Oberst Starts Team Love Label
sean by Sean Adams April 7th, 2004
Conor Oberst, the outta tune voice of a generation, from Bright Eyes and Desaparecidos, has started up his own label...

Joining the ranks of current illuminati Josh Homme, Fred Durst (spit!), Mike Patton and Thurston Moore, Conor has set-up Team Love, as what appears to be a subsidiary of Saddle Creek (who'll sort out distribution), whilst day-to-day operations will be headed by former Sony Music Publishing VP Nate Krenkel.

It's an interesting move for the Shortlist Prize nominee and debatably the Dylan for our times, but it makes perfect sense, both culturally and financially.

Omaha folk-pop group Tilly & the Wall is the label's first signing. Their album 'Wild Like Children' is out June 22nd. And later this year there's an album scheduled by a 19-year-old singer-songwriter called Willy Mason.

For more about the label go to: www.team-love.com/.

In related news the Bright Eyes split with Neva Dinova 'One Jug of Wine, Two Vessels' is finally released on April 20th. And we hear Conor will be playing Glasto this summer plus two London warm-up shows, as well as his already confirmed slot at Coachella.

And to clear one thing up, that Sick Of Conor Oberst article was written by some kid who only ever did two things for DiS. We love Bright Eyes here and believe Conor to be one of the most exceptionally talented leading lights in music in recent times. We just wanted to make that clear.

DiScuss: Favourite Bright Eyes album? If you were Conor, who would you sign?
